It's good for the country because it reduces our dependence on fossil fuels. It's good for the state because it reduces the amount of energy that we are required to import for outside of the state (making us more independent and less vulnerable to supply shocks). It's good for the utility provider because it reduces pressure on an aging and over taxed grid system and it is an efficient source of local energy that can be redistributed in the local market place at a profit. It is good for the homeowner because it massively lowers their lifetime cost of energy, and makes prices much more stable and predictable. And it is good for the environment because it reduces pollution and the need to dig massive holes in the Earth to supply the energy we need.

Re: How the SAVE Act Can Increase Your Home’s Value

Thanks for stopping by to leave a comment - we appreciate the feedback. The Fed Tax Credit has been extended through 2016 and it covers 30% of the cost of purchasing a system. The California Solar Initiative Program was created to provide rebate incentives (Not Tax Credits) to homeowners that are willing to switch to solar. Homeowners who receive electric utility service from one of the three publicly traded utility providers (i.e. So Cal Edison, Pacific Gas & Electric and San Diego Gas & Electric) were the target of this rebate program. Naturally as more businesses and homeowners switch to solar, the pool of rebate money declines and the size of the rebate per installation also declines. In other words the CSI program was designed to provide the greatest benefit to early adopters and a diminishing benefit to those who get in later on down the road. When you lease a residential solar system through one of the contractors in our network, they will apply those rebates to the lease financing of your system - thus reducing the monthly lease expense of the system. Insofar as rankings are concerned that is something that we plan to put together in the near future. For the time being I would strongly advise that if you are considering installing photovoltaic solar, pay careful attention to both the quality of the system the overall cost of the system and its maintenance. We will be addressing all of these issues in upcoming blog posts so please stay tuned! Thanks and Best Regards!

Re: How the SAVE Act Can Increase Your Home’s Value

I totally agree David! It only makes sense to include the cost of energy into the total cost of ownership. This is smart financial reform that makes sense for the homeowner, the mortgage lending system, energy policy in the USA and the environment. Long overdue if you ask me! Let's hope it gets passed someday soon ;-)

Re: How the New Home Energy Score System Will Change Real Estate

Login LockDown records the IP address and timestamp of every failed WordPress login attempt. We are currently unaware of any studies that provide evidence for additional heat retention resulting from the installation of residential solar photovoltaic. However, there can be no doubt that going solar will help you lockdown a significant portion of your utility bill (up to 100%) and save you thousands of dollars. Perhaps the savings can be used to make some additional contributions to your 401K, IRA - or maybe you can use it to pay for your children's college education. In any case we are sure that going solar will help you save money for your family while doing something positive for the environment and for the country. Good Luck and stay in touch!

Re: California Solar Energy Growth Is Leading The Pack!

If you have subscribed vis RSS then you ought to get our updates regularly. The truth is more and more people are beginning to move in this direction and we believe the best is yet to come. In time it will just become SOP because the supply of fossil fuels continue to diminish while the demand for energy continues to increase. The population continues to grow and our world is becoming more and more dependent on electricity with advances in technology. Decreasing supply and increasing demand will push up the price of fossil fuels while the price for solar and other types of green tech is coming down. When we reach the tipping point it will not be necessary to legislate change or shame people into going green for the environment - they will act in their own self interest and make the change themselves once it is the most affordable option for them to take.

Re: California Solar Energy Growth Is Leading The Pack!

Thank You for stopping by and posting to our blog. If the price of fossil fuels continue to rise and the price of solar continues to fall then it could happen very rapidly. Today there are government subsidies in place to help bridge that gap - thus making it affordable for many homeowners today. With that in mind I think that in few years government subsidies will not be required to make solar affordable for the average household.

Re: California Solar Energy Growth Is Leading The Pack!

Hi James - I wouldn't worry so much about the aesthetics. What's really ugly is the projected long run cost of traditional forms of electricity and the pollution that coal powered electricity creates for the environment. With that in mind, it is worth noting, that the size of solar systems are getting a bit smaller and designs are improving. In fact Green architectural firms are building solar powered, energy efficient buildings that look extremely stylish and new technologies will likely make further improvements as we progress. Thanks for the comment - we appreciate your feedback!

Re: Desert Daylight Solar Farm Slated For Riverside California

I was recommended this website by my cousin. Just wondering if it would have a similar effect for heating as well?
